Dozens of dead and dying animals and an unconscious 2-year-old were seized from a home in Greenville.

25-year-old Savannah Victoria Morgan was arrested in the home, where authorities noted “deplorable living conditions and a foul odor within.” Morgan has been charged with three counts of child neglect, one count of child abuse, and one count of cruelty to animals.

According to Greenville Online:

Warrants allege Morgan exposed a 2-year-old to physical abuse, causing the boy to suffer medical injuries such as bleeding in the brain and bruising to the head, neck and back.

The child had to seek medical treatment and was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, authorities said.

The boy’s mother originally told deputies that he choked on some chips and that she called 911 when she went into his room and saw he wasn’t breathing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Two other children were found in the home, and taken to the ER due to suspected child abuse.

Spoiled diapers and trash were in the home, along with broken glass on the floor. Dead animals were found in plastic containers and cages. Two live dogs were found in the back of the house, chained up with no food or water. 10 pythons were also seized from the house.

A total of 90 animals were found on the property.
