The third GOP debate took place on Wednesday, and needless to say, it was a complete debacle.

In response to this epic fail, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus sent an open letter to NBC News on Friday in which he revealed that the GOP will be “suspending the partnership” with the network for the planned February debate.

According to CNN Money, Priebus wrote that the partnership is suspended “pending further discussion between the RNC and our presidential campaigns.” The debate was scheduled to take place on February 26 in Houston, and National Review was set to partner with NBC to host it.

“We still fully intend to have a debate on that day, and will ensure that National Review remains part of it,” Priebus clarified.

NBC was obviously devastated by this, as GOP debates have been huge ratings draws thanks to Donald Trump.

“This is a disappointing development,” NBC News said in a statement. “However, along with our debate broadcast partners at Telemundo we will work in good faith to resolve this matter with the Republican Party.”
