This is the trick that cell phone companies do NOT want you to know about!

According to American Overlook, if you’ve updated your iPhone to the new iOS9, you have automatically been signed up for a feature that will cost you hundreds of dollars in data.

The feature is called “Wi-Fi Assist,” and it kicks in when you’re logged on to a Wi-Fi network but the signal is weak or slow. Your phone will then use your data to boost the speed of your device, without even telling you.

This may sound like a good idea in theory, but it’s actually costing Apple users hundreds of dollars. Here’s how you can turn off Wi-Fi Assist on your phone:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Enter the “Cellular” menu
  3. Scroll to the bottom
  4. Toggle off “Wi-Fi Assist”

If you follow these steps, you’ll be saving yourself TONS of money!
