A Florida father is livid after his 6 year-old daughter was sent home from school wearing only her shirt and a pair of panties after she accidentally wet her pants during class.

According to Conservative Tribune, Palm Coast resident Raymond McCurdy picked his daughter up from the bus stop last week to find her crying and wearing only a T-shirt and underwear.

“I kind of lifted her shirt once we got in the car and noticed she was in panties and a T-shirt only, her soiled clothes in a bag,” McCurdy said. “She’s been through enough in her life already and she’s only 6. She has medical issues, and when she has to go, she has to go.”

McCurdy claimed his daughter had her hand up asking to go to the bathroom, but the teacher ignored her. He went on to say that Belle Terre Elementary School was well aware of his daughter’s medical issues.

“What would have happened if my kid would have gotten touched by somebody?” McCurdy asked, implying that his daughter was left vulnerable to sexual assault when she was sent home in her underwear. The outraged father immediately called her school, but their response only made him more mad.

“We asked her why my daughter was sent home in just panties and a T-shirt, and (the assistant principal) begins to tell me, ‘We thought she had a long enough shirt to be able to put her on the school bus and send her home,'” he recounted. “They make me send her to school in clothes to their expectations. Why couldn’t you send my kid home in clothes to your expectations?”

“She was picked on, bullied, she was laughed at,” added Jennifer McCurdy, the girl’s mother. “There are four contacts on our daughter’s emergency card. Pick up the phone and call us. We will come get our child.”

After the story went viral, the elementary school released the following statement:

“There are procedures and protocols when incidents such as this happens. We’ve reviewed those during an investigation at Belle Terre Elementary School. We’ve invited the parents to sit down and discuss our findings, but they have declined.”

As for the McCurdys, they have hired a lawyer and are hoping to get justice for their daughter.
