Two months ago, Americans everywhere were overjoyed when three U.S. Marines foiled a terrorist attack on a train in France by taking down a shooter bent on killing as many people as he could.

Sadly, one of the hero veterans was reportedly stabbed repeatedly in the chest early this morning as he tried to protect a friend in Sacramento.

According to Daily Mail, Spencer Stone, 23, was stabbed “four times in the chest” at 12:45 am on Thursday. The attack was so violent that police treated it as a homicide when they arrived on the scene.

The U.S. airman 1st class was reportedly with a female companion at the intersection of 21st and K when the crime occurred.

“It is believed that the victim was out with a group of friends when a physical altercation led to the victim being stabbed multiple times in his upper body,” police said in a statement. “Detectives were called to the scene to assist with the investigation and the victim is currently being treated for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.”

“He is alive and in stable condition at this time,” an Air Force spokesman added. “We do not have any information as to the events preceding the incident.”

Police went on to tell reporters that the “assault occurred near a bar, alcohol is believed to be a factor.”

During the August terrorist attack, Stone was stabbed with a box cutter and had to undergo surgery to reattach his hand. We pray that he is able to recover from this stabbing as well!
