Tyler Skluzacek is a young student whose father served our country in the Iraq War. When Tyler noticed that his father was suffering from night terrors due to PTSD, he knew he had to do something…
This is truly amazing!
Tyler’s father, Sgt. 1st Class Patrick Skluzacek, spent a year serving in Iraq. He now suffers as night terrors, which the Mayo clinic describes as “episodes of screaming, intense fear and flailing while still asleep.”
According to Young Conservatives, Tyler decided to “try to create something that will help (his father) sleep better. That’s what it’s all about.” Along with some friends, he created an app called myBivy, short for bivouac, which tracks heart rates in order to predict night terrors.
“After a couple weeks of tracking the soldier we can find … the exact symptoms of the onset of the panic attack and try to use the watch or use the Android phone to disrupt that or take them out of the deep sleep but keep them asleep,” Tyler said.
Instead of inviting people like the Muslim clock kid to the White House, Obama should really be inviting Tyler and his dad there. THEY are the true American heroes!
