When The View first premiered in 1997, it was a groundbreaking talk show in which women of all different backgrounds discusses various important topics in front of a national audience.
Unfortunately, the show has devolved into a liberal mess that is painful to watch at best.
According to Q Political, The View is now facing cancellation after years of Whoopi Goldberg headlining the show. The talk show’s decline can be attributed to three main factors, all of which have something to do with Whoopi…
The first problem with The View is that it’s degenerative and annoying to watch. It may have been “groundbreaking” to have diverse women discuss topics on television in 1997, but it’s not anymore. The women on the show spend the hour bickering and screaming at each other, making the show quite irritating to watch.
As Timothy said in the Bible:
“Don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.” – 2 Timothy 2:23-24
The second problem with The View is the shameless liberal bias. When she started the show, Barbara Walters intended for it to showcase women with diverse political views. Sadly, the show has devolved into a show that is almost exclusively liberal. Right now, there is one conservative Christian woman on the panel, Candace Cameron Bure, but she is vastly outnumbered on the panel, and liberal hosts like Whoopi often gang up on her.
The liberal bias of the show makes it boring, and just like every other show on mainstream television. If The View is trying to be diverse, they aren’t doing a very good job of it!
Finally, perhaps the biggest problem with The View is their deplorable ratings. Whoopi Goldberg has been headlining the show since Barbara Walters retired in 2014. As soon as Whoopi took over, ratings for the already-struggling talk show plummeted, and they’ve been going downhill ever since.
The View recently got a slap in the face when their copycat CBS show The Talk passed them in the ratings.
This was the nail in the coffin for The View, and ABC executives are reportedly very close to canceling the show. We can only hope that it gets cancelled, and that Whoopi Goldberg is unemployed once again!
