Last week, we reported that country music legend Dolly Parton had suffered a series of health scares this fall that had left her going in and out of the hospital. Seeing that his friend was in need, Parton’s fellow country music legend Kenny Rogers stepped up to help her out in a beautiful way!

According to The Boot, Rogers just raised $60,000 for Parton’s Imagination Library during a benefit concert for the charity that gives books to children that range from newborns to 5 year-olds.

“You know, she’s an amazing person. She can take something and really grow it into something fantastic. Dolly has shipped over 70 million books!” Rogers said. “I think it’s a great idea. I’m glad to be a part of this, and I hope it helps!”

Parton was visibly touched by Rogers’ act of generosity.

“I’m so grateful to Kenny for wanting to help my Imagination Library. He’s always been such a great friend to me, and I’m so happy that he made time to come to Dollywood, and I know the fans just loved it.”

Though Rogers’ performance alone raised $60,000, the entire concert raised over $635,000 for Parton’s beloved charity.

“Kenny, if you’re reading this, I want to you to know just how much I appreciate you, and you know I’ll always love you!” Parton said.
