Just before the CMAs on Wednesday night, it was confirmed that newly-divorced Blake Shelton is dating his fellow The Voice judge Gwen Stefani.

This obviously came as a major blow to Shelton’s ex-wife Miranda Lambert, who struggled emotionally to make it through her powerful song “Bathroom Sink” during the awards show.

Days after this drama unfolded, Shelton has made an announcement that has left many fans stunned. According to Daily Mail, he will be hosting the Kids Choice Awards for 2016.

“Just when things were about to quiet down around here… I’ve got something BIG to announce tomorrow. #shocking #staytuned,” Shelton tweeted yesterday, letting the suspense build. When a fan asked if it was personal or professional news, the country music star replied, “It’s a combination of the two… Hmmmm… Got you thinking now huh?”

“No chance y’all are gonna guess this one. It’s just WAY too insane,” he added.

Shelton finally made the announcement this morning on the Today Show.

Considering Shelton’s recent behavior, some don’t think he’s the right person to be hosting a show aimed at children. Miranda Lambert fans have blasted Shelton for announcing his new relationship hours before his wife was to perform at the CMAs, and many think this shows he is not a good role model for children.
