After 40 years in broadcasting, a beloved Fox anchor has announced that she is finally retiring from the business.

According to Fox 13, Denise White announced that the Monday before Thanksgiving will be her last day with the Tampa affiliate.

“I’ve had the privilege of being welcomed into your homes all these years at noon and five to bring you the important events of the day,” she told viewers while breaking the news.  “I hope I’ve done it with credibility and professionalism.”

White covered stories in both Orlando and Miami before coming to Tampa 25 years ago. As she announced her retirement, she thanked the viewers for keeping Fox 13 News at 5 consistently at the top of the ratings.

“I’m proud of the part I may have played, and I’m equally as proud of the people here I’ve had the pleasure of working with,” she concluded.

We wish Denise the best of luck. She will always be a part of the Fox family!
