If you have ever had the unfortunate experience of having chipped paint on your car, you know how expensive it can be to fix. It’s even more of a punch to the gut if it is due to no fault of your own.

But, now you can fix this inexpensively right at home!

First, rub the chipped area with a wet rag to remove some dirt on the surface. Using a cotton cloth, rub polishing compound on the affected paint. On chipped paint, use 400 grain wet or dry sandpaper to smooth out the edge, then carefully wet sand it.

You can use a body filler to fix divots. Then after it dries, lightly sand it with 100 grain paper. Clean the area around the divot with rubbing alcohol, then prime it using filler primer. After the primer dries, feather/fade sand the edges with a 400 grit paper. Then paint it and feather it again.

Have you ever returned to your car to find it scratched up? How did you react? Please share your story.
