Just before the CMAs on Wednesday night, it was confirmed that newly-divorced Blake Shelton is dating his fellow The Voice judge Gwen Stefani.

This obviously came as a major blow to Shelton’s ex-wife Miranda Lambert, who struggled emotionally to make it through her powerful song “Bathroom Sink” during the awards show.

Days after the drama unfolded, rumors are swirling that this was just an elaborate PR stunt that was set up to benefit both Lambert and Shelton. Once the “it” couple of country music, Shelton and Lambert have a history of dropping bombshells at their music world’s award shows. According to Parade, this might have been yet another example of them trying to put on a show for their fans.

It certainly benefitted Lambert. She came out of this as America’s sweetheart after she bravely to the stage despite the fact that her ex-husband was sitting in the audience with his new girlfriend. As for Shelton, he ended up looking like a ladies man who an bounce from one beautiful blonde celebrity to another.

Judging from how kind Stefani and Shelton appear to be on The Voice, it seems unlike them to announce their relationship hours before Lambert was set to perform. Do you think this could have been organized for PR? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
