It’s no secret that Detroit has had serious economic woes. The city has a plethora of abandoned homes. One in three Detroit homes were foreclosed because of the depressed Detroit economy.

But, florists from around the country breathed new life into one of those empty houses, filling it with flowers. For one weekend, the home was open to the public and people were amazed at this forgotten home’s transformation.


The Flower House brought crowds out to enjoy beauty in a blighted area. It is incredibly impressive as you can see in the video tour below.

Now that the weekend has passed, the home will be demolished but the land will be converted into a flower farm. But, for one glorious weekend, this house brought joy to the people who experienced it.
