The way country star Joey Feek has handled her terminal cancer diagnosis has inspired many people. Her love of her family and Jesus are evident in every public update given. Her belief in God is guiding her through her final days.

A Nashville songwriter was so moved by Joey’s battle that he penned a song about it. Tyler Hayes wrote “Joey’s Song” in about eight minutes after reading a moving update on Joey and Rory’s Facebook page. He recently put the video on his Facebook page with the following message.

No words could ever appropriately describe what Joey Feek and her family are currently going through. I know if I was standing in front of her right now I would be at a loss for words. I wrote this song in order to be a reminder that no matter what happens to Joey in the upcoming weeks, she will NEVER leave her family and those who care about her most. Even though her physical body may be gone, her presence will never leave. I hope this song has a chance to bring comfort and peace to her and her family. Thank you Rich Prather, Crystal Burks-Baker, and Christopher Floyd for all of your help. Without yall, this song would have never been possible. God bless Joey and her family as they go through this time.

What a nice Christmas gift to the Feeks from Tyler. I’m sure knowing so many people are praying for them brings them some comfort.

If you liked this song, please share it!
