On Friday Obama’s FBI announced that they are labeling the massacre in California as “an act of terrorism.”
Assistant Director of the FBI’s L.A. office, David Bowdich, said during a press conference, “As of today, based on the information and the facts as we know them, we are investigating these horrific acts as an act of terrorism.”
IJ Review Reported:
Bowdich continued, noting that the government agency came to its conclusion after discovering over the last 48 hours that the two suspects, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik:
- Planned extensively for the December 2nd attack, including the building and creation of several explosive devices to use during the attack;
- Used high-powered ammunition and weapons during the shooting; and
- Attempted to destroy “their digital fingerprints” by crushing their cell phones in a nearby trashcan.
It should be noted that authorities are continuing to investigate this case in order to discover the motivations of the shooters, including whether or not they were planning additional attacks against Americans.
At the press conference, Bowdich told reporters, “I want to ensure that everyone understands that just because the FBI has now taken the leadership based on the trajectory of this case, we’re not just taking this on our own… We are working hand-in-hand with our other federal, local and state partners. We are also working hand-in-hand with our foreign counterparts to ensure that we find any connections that pertain to this matter.”
The attack on Wednesday is the deadliest terror attack to happen in the U.S. since 9/11.
