Tyler Perry is an actor, director, screenwriter, and philanthropist. He also is a Christian. And this Christian will be hosting and narrating “The Passion” Palm Sunday 2016.

The musical, which recounts the final hours of Jesus’s earthly life, will air live from New Orleans. Viewers can watch as Jesus presides over the Last Supper, is betrayed by Judas, tried, convicted and crucified before resurrecting on Easter Sunday.

As reported in Christian Post, this story will have a modern day touch to it, as this will occur at places throughout New Orleans. There also will be a procession of hundreds of people carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from Champion Square outside the Superdome to the live stage at Woldenburg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River.

The musical will air on Fox and is being produced by Dick Clark Productions. You can see a 2015 reenactment of The Passion in San Antonio below.
