Acting on a tip, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and Bisbee Arizona police made a huge bust.

When they stopped a U-Haul truck on the highway, they found 4,700 pounds of marijuana with a street value of about $3 million. But, they made an even bigger discovery when they searched a bit more.

They followed the truck’s route and got a search warrant. When they entered a shed, they found the entrance to an underground tunnel that led to Mexico. Drugs and probably illegals were entering the United States through this shed.

The tunnel was quite sophisticated, having a hydraulic lift and wooden supports. It was large enough to allow an adult to stand upright on his drug smuggling journey.

In similar news, Mexican drug lord El Chapo found himself back in prison this weekend after escaping from an elaborate tunnel last summer.

If you were in charge, how would you handle discovering a tunnel from Mexico to the US? What would you do? Please join the discussion.
