Trump’s presidential campaign is soaring, but he may have some competition from another billionaire.

Former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg may throw his hat in the race, according to the Political Insider. He would reportedly run as an independent, and announce his candidacy in March.

CNN reported:

The source said aides to the three-term mayor are looking at ballot access issues, but the source refused to speak specifically about what Bloomberg, 73, asked to be done.

The source added that Bloomberg sees the Republican and Democratic presidential races as becoming increasingly polarized, and neither fits Bloomberg’s views. But Bloomberg, who has flirted with Oval Office aspirations in the past, is serious about a possible candidacy, the source insisted.

Of course, Bloomberg is a huge liberal so he probably wouldn’t pull support away from Trump in the primary. But things would get VERY interesting in the general election if Bloomberg did decide to throw his hat in the race.
