Green lights are popping up in windows and on front porches. These aren’t remaining Christmas lights, these were put there for a very special reason – to thank our veterans.

Walmart started a campaign to switch out a traditional light bulb for a green one in an effort to show vets that we support them. When veterans return to civilian life, they are camouflaged into society and we can’t always tell who they are to thank them. And sometimes, we just don’t know what to say.

As you can see in the video below, the intent is to show solidarity with these men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. In addition, Walmart is encouraging employers to hire veterans and their spouses.

Over 1.5 million people have participated in this campaign. Many using the hashtag #GreenLightAVet on social media.

Have you seen any green lights? Is this something you will do? Please let us know.
