Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is currently being investigated by authorities in connection to the assault of two off-duty Philadelphia police officers.

According to The Blaze, the officers were hospitalized early Sunday morning after an assault at the Recess Lounge in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood. After the cops ordered multiple bottles of Champagne, one of McCoy’s friends reportedly grabbed a bottle out of the officer’s hands. Then, at around 2:30 am, witnesses say McCoy and his friends attacked the officers and began kicking them, stomping on them and punching them.

A third police sergeant who works with the two officers walked away uninjured. Though McCoy, who used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, and his friends were not arrested, they are still the focus of the investigation.

“We are aware of the reports regarding LeSean McCoy and are in the process of gathering more information,” the Buffalo Bills said in a statement. “We will not provide any further comment at this time.”

When McCoy’s agent Drew Rosenhaus was asked to comment on this incident, he declined. We will update you further as this story develops.
