Cracker Barrel is one of the most all-American restaurants in existence. They have a lot of different kinds of food that are terrific, but one stands out as an all-around favorite. Many believe their most delicious dish is their hash brown casserole. In this video, you’ll learn how to make this hash brown casserole yourself right from your own home!

Crouton Crackerjacks shared the recipe on YouTube. He got the recipe from his friend who works there. Someone commented on the video saying that she works there too and this is indeed the recipe. They just make a more industrial size casserole as they are feeding hundreds of people daily.

You have to make sure to use Colby Jack cheese rather than cheddar, as some recipes claim. And Cracker Barrel doesn’t use sour cream, so don’t add it! He cute the recipe down from industrial size so that it could fit in a 9 x 13-inch pan. This will serve 6-8 people.

Here’s the recipe:

What you’ll need:

2 lbs frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed

1 (10.75oz) can Campbell’s condensed cream of chicken soup

1/2 medium yellow onion, diced or chopped fine 1/4 cup margarine, melted

2 cups (8 oz) colby cheese, shredded or diced fine in a food processor

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Combine everything except the hash browns in a large bowl. Add in the thawed hash brown potatoes and mix well. Put into a 9″x13″ baking pan and bake in a preheated 350*F oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Enjoy!!

A video showing him making this beloved and delicious dish is below.

Once your family eats it, they’ll be begging you to make it again! Make sure you bookmark this recipe as you might want to be making it often!
