When a fisherman in Australia recently felt a tug on his fishing line, he certainly wasn’t expecting to pull this out of the water.

According to Mad World News, the freakish-looking fish had bug eyes and dozens of needle-like teeth. The fish is believed to be an Endo’s Goosefish – Lophiodes endoi, which is more commonly known as a monkfish. It “is a deepwater member of the anglerfish family,” according to Daily Mail.

This strange fish can grow to 15 inches and can be found in waters that range from 800-1600 feet deep near Australia. What a freaky sight!
