Growing up in rural Montana, Casey Anderson has always had a fondness for animals. He has since devoted his life to bears, and especially one bear in particular.

For over ten years, Anderson has been friends with an 800-pound grizzly bear named Brutus, who is described as a lovable gentle giant. According to AWM, Anderson found Brutus abandoned next to his dead mother during a trip to Alaska. He took the cub in and raised him as his own.

When Brutus outgrew his home, Anderson started the Montana Grizzly Encounter Rescue and Educational Sanctuary. There, he works with Brutus to educate the public about grizzly bears and to try to get them off the endangered species list.
