The national media is essentially ignoring the murder of two police officers in Maryland. It is believed the officers were targeted because they were wearing their uniforms.

David Brian Evans, a 67 year old white male, shot one of the officers inside a crowded Panera in Abingdon, Maryland. He also killed another police officer nearby. Both officers were veterans of the force. One served the community for 30 years while the other had been a police officer for 17 years.

Witnesses say Evans appeared to have shot the officer in Panera simply because he was in uniform. Evans also had an outstanding arrest for assaulting a police officer. The police officer asked Evans, “How is your day?” Evans immediately pulled out a gun and shot the officer in the head.

Evans got into gunfight and killed a second officer after fleeing the Panera. Two other officers opened fire at Evans. Evans was killed in the cross fire.

These murders have shaken Abingdon. People having lunch certainly weren’t expecting to witness a police officer being murdered. But, national media has been silent.

Why do you think the media is ignoring this? Please share your thoughts.
