Hollywood is in mourning today after it was revealed that Emmy-award winning actor Larry Drake of LA Law fame has passed away at the age of 66.

According to Daily Mail, Drake won two Emmys for playing developmentally challenged office worker Benny on the hit show. He was found in his Hollywood home on Thursday by a friend, who promptly called the paramedics. Drake was pronounced dead when they arrived.

Drake was so convincing in the role of Benny that fans would often treat him like he was developmentally disabled himself.

“People were always coming up to me and treating me like I was slow. I would have to tell them ‘I’m not really retarded, the character I play on TV is retarded,” he once recalled. “It was actually pretty flattering because it showed that these people thought my acting was really that convincing.”

Rest in peace, Larry Drake! You will be missed.
