President Obama has just announced that he is submitting to liberal environmentalists by reversing his decision to drill for oil along America’s Southeast Atlantic coast. This move will have a devastating affect on the cost of gas all over the country.

According to The Political Insider, the Obama administration unveiled a proposal in January 2015 to open the southeastern Atlantic coast to oil and gas drilling for the first time, much to the delight of oil companies. However, liberal environmentalists were furious about the plan, and they let their feelings be known in a big way.

Obama’s Interior Secretary Sally Jewel tweeted on Wednesday that the blocking of drilling in the Atlantic Ocean “protects the Atlantic for future generations.”

The plan Obama reversed would have opened up over 50 miles of drilling near Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Virginia before 2021. This area would have then been leased out to oil companies, which would reduce America’s dependance on foreign oil.

Making matters worse, Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) each announced at the last debate that they would end the fracking industry and prevent further drilling on all Federal land. This means that if a Democrat wins the presidential election, our gas prices will only continue to increase.
