The Republican establishment is in an all out panic mode to stop Donald Trump. As the real estate mogul continues to rack up delegates on his way to the nomination, they actually held a secret meeting to try to stop him.

They are trying to stop the will of the people. Erick Erickson is pushing this idea. Erickson, who is a Ted Cruz supporter, realizes that the delegate math is nearly impossible to Ted, so he’s pushing for a contested convention.

There is more evidence of this attempt to suppress the will of the people. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who just three weeks ago joked that if Ted Cruz was murdered on the Senate floor and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict, just endorsed Cruz. Graham seemingly hates Cruz with the intensity of 1,000 suns, but he rubber stamped the freshman Senator simply to stop Trump.

Ted Cruz now appears to be the establishment candidate.

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich is pretty appalled at the establishment throwing up road blocks to quash the will of the voters. He believes Erickson and his crew are trying to help elect Hillary.

“I’m not sympathetic at all to the Erick Ericksons of the world. If they want to form the let’s elect Hillary Clinton club, fine. But they ought to be honest about it. Any effort to help anybody but the Republican nominee helps Hillary Clinton. And if you think giving Hillary Clinton the Supreme Court, having Hillary Clinton run our foreign policy, having Hillary Clinton support the unions to continue ruining our children in schools. If you think that’s acceptable, do it. Erick Erickson’s not playing a risk-free game. It’s not like there is some pure middle way. If he does not support the Republican nominee, he is functionally supporting Hillary Clinton in the general election.”

Do you side with Trump or the establishment? Please share your opinion.
