Three thugs thought they found an easy target when they invaded an 80 year old man’s home with the intention of robbing him. But, this 80 year old West Virginia man was a veteran who was armed with a revolver and he wasn’t afraid to use it.

The veteran heard a knock on his door late at night. He put his revolver in his back pocket before going to the door. 23 year old Whitney Renay Jabiru said she had an emergency and needed to use his phone. When he let her in, 28-year-old Larry Austin Shaver and 28-year-old John David Grossklaus Jr. immediately followed her in the door. They were armed with realistic looking BB guns

They began demanding money and guns. When they started going through his house, the veteran took out his revolver and shot the two males.

Shaver was killed at the scene. Grossklaus is recovering at the hospital and will be charged as soon as he can be released. Whitney Jabiru ran off but was later apprehended by police. She was charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Police aren’t releasing the homeowner’s name and are not pursing charges as he was clearly defending himself in his own home.

In a disgusting turn, Shaver’s girlfriend set up a Go Fund Me account to help pay for the expenses related to his sudden and unexpected death. She was trying to monetize off her boyfriend breaking into an elderly veteran’s home. The comments came in fast and furious against her. One commenter said he would donate to buy the homeowner new carpet since Shaver’s blood would have left a stain. The woman’s own brother demanded she take it down.

There were enough complaints that Go Fund Me removed the mooching campaign. She must be a disgusting human being to attempt to swindle people after her boyfriend terrorized an elderly veteran.

Thankfully, this veteran was prepared and willing to defend himself and his home. Police are investigating other possible crimes the two men may have committed. While the homeowner is likely very shaken and shocked by this event, he may have saved others from more pain and frustration caused by these thugs. With one in the morgue and the other two headed to prison, they won’t be hassling any other private citizens.

This man is a hero!

Please share if you stand with this veteran in his act of defense!
