You never know what you will see when you go to the zoo. Nature doesn’t have much of a filter, so you can’t really predict anything.

At the Jigokudani Monkey Park in Japan, snow monkeys spend their days at the hot springs.

Or hanging out at the water’s edge…


Grooming each other…


Snow monkeys were not afraid of humans. They go about their day as if the crowds of people looking at them were part of the landscape.


And one quick photographer got the shot of a lifetime. Jari Peltomaki was watching a macaque take a bath. But, this monkey wasn’t very happy with having eyes on him at that time.

As Peltomaki raised his camera to take a picture, the monkey flipped him the bird. This picture is so hilarious and perfectly timed.

Monkeys can put on quite a show at the zoo. Even the smaller primates can have big personalities. Some visitors got a special treat when a playful monkey pushed a capybara into the water. You can see that video below.
