Celtic Woman’s popularity spreads well beyond the borders of their homeland of Ireland. People throughout the world can’t get enough of this group of talented women. You just have to listen to these women sing once to understand the draw.

In 2004, a former musical director for Riverdance formed the group by choosing five performers. Celtic Woman’s lineup has changed over the years, but their popularity remains consistent. They have sold over nine million records worldwide.

They sell out shows across the globe because their shows have a reputation for being stellar. Celtic Woman’s exposure from having concerts broadcast on PBS helped boost their fanbase in the United States and lead to sold out shows here.

They sing a variety of types of songs. In addition to singing more contemporary music, Celtic Woman has also sang gospel songs. Their performance of “Amazing Grace” will make you an instant fan! You can watch that in the video below.

Breathtaking! These women are amazing performers and they don’t shy away from religious songs. They also sing a hauntingly beautiful rendition of “Pie Jesu.” A performance of that song is below.

Here is the translation of Pie Jesu:

Merciful Jesus, merciful Jesus, merciful Jesus, merciful Jesus

Father, who takes away the sins of the world

Grant them rest, grant them rest

Merciful Jesus, merciful Jesus, merciful Jesus, merciful Jesus

Father, who takes away the sins of the world

Grant them rest, grant them rest

Lamb of God, Lamb of God, Lamb of God, Lamb of God

Father, who takes away the sins of the world

Grant them rest, grant them rest

Everlasting, everlasting rest

It’s no wonder that Celtic Woman has fans the world over. Their stunning voices are captivating! Their performance of “You Raise Me Up” is also superb. Click here to watch that.
