Donald Trump has stormed into the poll lead after the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Cleveland. According to CNN, Trump leads Clinton 44% to 39% with Gary Johnson, the Libertarian party candidate, sitting at 9% and Jill Stein, the Green party candidate, at 3%.

The poll also revealed that head to head, Trump leads Clinton 48% to 45%. This is a “6-point convention bounce for Trump.”

While this might seem small, CNN notes this is quite significant. It is the first time there has been this big of a bounce since 2000.

Trump’s increase comes from support among independents, where “43% of whom said that Trump’s convention in Cleveland left them more likely to back him.”

Before the convention independents favored Clinton 34% to 31%. Now they favor Trump 46% to Clinton’s 28%.

This wasn’t the only good news for Trump that CNN poll found. Trump’s favorability had a 7 point jump up to 46% with a positive view from the previous 39%.

Trump also holds double-digit leads over Clinton on top issues such as the economy and terrorism and he cut Clinton’s lead on foreign policy which dropped 7 points from 57% of voters trusting Clinton down to only 50% trusting her (How anyone can trust Clinton is beyond me!).

Probably the most interesting piece, is that Democrats’ incessant attacks on Trump’s character seem to be completely failing. The number of voters who say Trump will unite the country has increased to 42% from 34%.

This is definitely FANTASTIC news for Donald Trump!
