Wouldn’t it be nice if people who expressed outrage over animals did the same with respect to abortion? Planned Parenthood snuffs out the lives of 300,000 unborn babies a year and yet we are constantly treated to a barrage of outrage from people who don’t like and borderline hate hunters.

In this case, a former javelin thrower by the name of Josh Bowmar filmed himself hunting a black bear.

With a spear!

Naturally, animal rights activists freaked out over the video they say is “cruel.”

Wendy Higgins of the Humane Society International said the video was a “tragic example” of “mindless machismo-fueled blood-lust.”

She went on, “It is shocking to see the delight of this hunter in what he has done, his thrill utterly appalling.”

Probably her most disgusting and uninformed opinion came when she said, “This poor bear didn’t stand a chance, deliberately lured to the killing spot by food, and then mercilessly targeted and left to die in agony.”

Bowmar fired back:

The spear blade I was using was five inches wide and 16 inches long, and razor sharp . Not to mention, I got 24 inches of penetration on that bear, causing more damage and trauma to the bear than any arrow/broadhead/bullet combination could ever cause.

It is a well known fact from spear hunters across the world, including Tim Wells who has speared over 100 animals to date, a spear will kill an animal twice as fast as an arrow will.

Taking down a bear with a spear is pretty hard core. If you don’t like these things, don’t watch. Nobody is being forced to see it. It was in Alberta, Canada and was perfectly legal for Bowmar to do, yet the animal rights people want him charged with SOMETHING. And officials in Canada are now moving to outlaw spear hunting. It’s absurd.

As I said, it’s hard core stuff, but to each his own. Black bear hunting in Canada is VERY COMMON. What people are objecting to has nothing to do with the method. They say the same about bows and rifles.

Share with others to show off this AWESOME hunt, it’s not something you see every day!
