George Burns and Gracie Allen had thriving careers. The comedy duo were successful in vaudeville, film, radio and television. Burns and Allen saw a lot of changes in Hollywood and they adapted for each medium.

The married couple was one of the first TV couples. The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show made Americans laugh from 1950 to 1958.

George was the straight man to Gracie’s “Dumb Dora” and they played it perfectly. Take a stroll down memory lane to hear about Gracie’s trip to the store. I don’t know how George kept a straight face!

Now that’s funny! Classic TV is the best. I wish we had more wholesome yet funny shows today.

Please share this if you miss Burns and Allen!
