Chuck Norris took pen to paper to defend Donald Trump’s position on immigration and he did so with Chuck Norris flair!

In his commentary on WND, Norris began by lambasting the current administration’s absolute failure of an immigration policy and pointed out the true crisis we face.

The federal government has miserably failed to produce a viable solution to the illegal immigrant crisis. Amnesty is not the answer. And immigration laws aren’t effective if we continue to dodge or ignore them. Furthermore, globalization efforts and the invasion of terrorists into our homeland have only confused security matters, increasingly endangering our borders as well as our national security and sovereignty.

After pointing out the crisis, Norris turned to our Founding Fathers where they saw that immigrants need to assimilate and have a positive effect on our culture. “They expected them to maintain their ethnicity but adopt our culture and customs. They expected their patriotism to be for these United States.”

Norris quoted a number of the founding fathers from George Washington to James Madison. One of the more notable quotes came from Thomas Jefferson as he expressed his concern about immigrants coming from more authoritarian governments and not being able to handle America’s freedoms. Jefferson believed this would lead to “an unbounded licentiousnesss, passing, as is usual from one extreme to another. It would be a miracle were they to stop precisely at the point of temperate liberty. These principles with their language, they will transmit to their children. In proportion to their numbers, they will share with us the legislation. They will infuse into it their spirit, warp and bias its direction, and tender it a heterogeneous, incoherent, distracted mass.”

How did the founders solve this problem? Norris points to James Madison when he stated, “I do not wish that any man should acquire the privilege, but such as would be a real addition to the wealth or strength of the United States.” We should be picky as all get out on who we let into our country and make sure those we do let in will serve to strengthen our nation!

They enacted this principle into law in the Naturalization Act of 1975 through four basic requirements:

Key criteria for citizenship of the Naturalization Act of 1795 remain part of American law. These include (1) five years of (lawful) residence within the United States; (2) a good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States; (3) the taking of a formal oath to support the Constitution and to renounce any foreign allegiance; and (4) the renunciation of any hereditary titles.

Unfortunately, these requirements are no longer enforced.

Yet Norris believes these laws can be enforced and our borders can be secured. And it won’t come from a Hillary Clinton Presidency. Norris “believe[s] only Trump has a plan and passion to do it. A Hillary presidency will only continue the failed immigration policies and border fluidity of Barack Obama.”

I couldn’t agree more with Chuck Norris’ assertion. Our founders are the perfect examples to look to when it comes to solving our immigration crisis. We should be extremely picky who we allow into the country so as to preserve the freedom our founders set forth for us.

We must be wary of those who come from communist and other extremely authoritarian regimes as they will most likely attempt to subvert and destroy our great country as they attempted to do during the Cold War and are once again trying with the refugee crisis in Syria. Our borders must be secured and the future of America and it’s freedom saved!
