U.S. Army Reserve 2nd LT Sam Kendricks is an Olympic pole vaulter and champion pole vaulter in the United States. The 23 year old was in the middle getting ready to do a vault in his event when something happened that stopped him in his tracks.

He tossed the pole aside and then stood at attention. Why? He heard the National Anthem playing in the ground.

That’s respect.

Kendricks is one of 18 US athletes in the Olympics that also serves in the US military. Even better Kendricks won a bronze medal with a vault of 19 feet and 2 1/4 inches. He became the first American to medal in this event since 2004.

Share this with others so they can see what a true patriotism and phenomenal representative for the United States of America!
