Police have confirmed that three people were injured, two students and one teacher. The two students are believed to have non-life threatening injuries. They have confirmed there is a suspect in custody.

While police responded to the active shooter situation at the school they also discovered a person dead in their home about two miles from the school. Anderson County coroner, Gerg Shore, said the person is “connected to the shooter that went to the school.” He continued, ““Right now, we’re not releasing any details other than it is a relative. We just wanna make sure the community knows that this situation is now under control.”

Shore did not believe the person found dead was related to any of the victims of the school shooting. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
