Two New York Police Department officers have been shot in the Bronx according to the NYPD.

The officers have been rushed to Jacobi Hospital reportedly in a squad car. Their condition is currently unknown.


One of the officers was shot ‘more than ten times’ in the leg according to PIX11. The second officer was shot in the head. NBC New York affiliate reports the officer shot in the head is in grave condition.

One of the officers has now died.

The officers were shot in the Van Nest section of the Bronx on Noble Avenue.


The suspect was shot and killed.

NBC New York affiliate has a helicopter above the scene which shows a wrecked maroon colored SUV slammed into a truck surrounded by two police vehicles. The NBC affiliate believes the shootings most likely resulted from a home invasion.
