Country star Chris Janson, who broke out earlier this year with his hit song, “Buy Me a Boat” is asking for prayers after his family lost everything in the fires raging in Tennessee.

He sent out two tweets. In the first, he asked for prayers and rain and in the second, he unveiled the utter devastation that has affected his family.

USA Today reports that around “100 homes have been damaged or destroyed by flames from spreading wildfires…More than 14,000 people were evacuated from Gatlinburg alone, with hundreds of them seeking refuge in emergency shelters.”

Tennessee Emergency Management spokesman Dean Flener spoke to Channel 5 Nashville.

Sevier county native Dolly Parton issued the following statement as she asked fans to help protect the Great Smoky Mountains.

As of this morning the Tennessee Department of Agriculture reported that there are still 47 active fires that have burned over 14,000 acres. They responded to 12 new fires in the past 24 hours.

Fortunately, most of the major fires have been contained with only two of them below 100%. Those two being East Miller Cove in Blount County that is 95% contained and Mowbray in Hamilton County that is 98% contained.

Michael Luciano recorded dramatic video of he and his brother’s escape when fire closed in on them.

A Go Fund Me has been set up to provide assistance to those affected by the fires in Sevier County.

We are praying for all those affected by the fires!

Share to pray for Tennessee!
