Ohio State University has been put on lockdown following reports of an active shooter on campus.

The campus issued the report: “Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College.”

The report was issued by Ohio State University police at 9:56 am.

Watts Hall is the Material Science and Engineering building.

Police are encouraging students and staff to seek shelter and avoid the area of College Road north.

There is a heavy police presence.

One twitter user is reporting that the shooter is down.

Reports indicate that there are two suspects. One is down while one is still at large. Four people have reportedly been shot.

Ohio State Emergency Management is asking anyone with information to call 9-1-1.

Fox News has reported that 7 people have transported to local hospitals.

An eyewitness notes that a man crashed his car into a group of students who were standing outside due to a fire alarm. After hitting the students he got out with a knife and gun.
