People who have spent their entire lives in government forget that there are others who do more important things, like serve in the military. That was a lesson New York Senator Chuck Schumer learned when he tried to attack Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton over where he was eight years ago!

The issue revolved around Senator Schumer and a promise he made not to delay the confirmation vote of President Trump’s choice to lead the CIA, Rep. Mike Pompeo. When the vote was delayed, Cotton was angry, and asked why Schumer went back on his word. Schumer told Cotton that the Senate had never previously confirmed a CIA director on Inauguration Day and if Cotton had “been around eight years earlier,” he’d know that Republicans didn’t extend that courtesy for incoming president Barack Obama.

Then, Sen. Cotton laid the smack down:

“Eight years ago, I was getting my ass shot at in Afghanistan,” Cotton snapped. “So don’t talk to me about where I was 8 years ago.”

Game. Set. Match.

The only thing that would have been better if it was on video.

Make sure to go ahead and pass this around. It’s just such a good story, especially considering Senator Schumer’s smugness, that as many people as can be reached need to see it.
