Jon Voight agrees that protesting is a first amendment right, but he said recently that Shia LaBeouf’s and Miley Cyrus’s protests against our duly-elected president are activism that cross the line into treason!

In an interview, Voight was asked about what he thought of the protests and he gave his view. He was especially tough on LaBeouf and Cyrus for what he said were protests not against a policy but against the president himself.

“They’re teaching treason. They’re teaching going up against the government, not accepting the will of the people on this presidency. It’s a very sad day really when I see this,” Voight says.

He makes great points. Always look at it the other way: What if there were massive protests against Barack Obama simply because he was elected? How the would the media react?

Show this to others. The key question is to ask what Voight asked: “What are they protesting?” People will see this and think, “Good question!”
