A man with a long gun got into a stand off with police around 9 a.m. PST in Oakland, California.

The standoff started after reports of a sniper near Golf Links Drive and 98th Ave. This is close to Bishop O’Dowd High School.

Once police arrived on scene, footage from helicopters clearly showed the gunman shooting out a window from a home on Las Vegas Ave.

After some time, the man left the home and spray painted a nearby garage and a white car located on the street.

Police are now reporting that they have “disarmed and detained” the shooter and video shows him being taken away in an ambulance.

However, they say the scene is still not secure and the search is ongoing.
