President Donald Trump is not taking the assault on Attorney General Jeff Sessions lying down. The media and left-wing radical politicians have been hammering Sessions after he met with a top Russian diplomat last year when he was a sitting U.S. Senator.

New York senator Chuck Schumer was leading the attack, “Last night when I read the revelations…and his decision to mislead Congress with those contacts, I felt a knot in the pit of my stomach.” Schumer continued, “The information reported last night makes it clear, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Attorney General Sessions cannot possibly lead an investigation … with these revelations, he may very well become the subject of it.”

Listen to his disgusting and baseless attacks:

I wonder if that knot came from the same place as the crocodile tears he put on last month after Trump’s executive order on extreme vetting.

Well, Donald Trump was not going to be cowed into submission by Schumer or the media.

He responded:

President Trump is right. This is an absolute witch hunt over absolutely nothing.

Hell, I’ve met with a Russian diplomat and it was for a school field trip to the Russian embassy! You know who else I met on that trip? The Jamaican ambassador, a representative from Israel, as well as representatives from Latvia.

And it isn’t surprising that a senator would meet with a foreign dignitary. Because, as the Constitution clearly lays out, it is the role of the Senate to provide advice and consent when the president is making a treaty. It makes sense they would meet with a foreign dignitary to discuss potential treaties.

Sessions also happened to be a senior member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, which is tasked with oversight of the nation’s military, including the Department of Defense, military research and development, nuclear energy, benefits for the military, the Selective Service System, and other matters related to defense policy.

In fact, just last year, the Obama Administration was working with Russia on counter-narcotics missions and securing military supply lines in Afghanistan. And who would oversee these missions in the Senate? The Senate Armed Services Committee!

It’s time to ignore these nasty haters and continue to Make America Great Again.
