Trey Gowdy is not staying quiet on reports from the White House that the Obama Administration spied on Trump campaign officials.
In recent weeks, there have been plenty of rumors swirling around Washington over Russian influence in the election. These rumors are based on anonymous sources and information leaks. Now, with President Trump accusing Obama of illegally tapping his phone, Gowdy has had it with how the media is reporting on issues related to President Trump, Russia, and wiretapping.
Rep. Gowdy took to Fox News to set the record straight: Congress is better equipped to handle investigations, not the media.
As a congressman, Gowdy can’t rely on anonymous sources. He has to get to the truth, which doesn’t involve nasty, unsubstantiated rumors.
Gowdy nails it. Only a congressional investigation can get to the truth on matters like Russian influence and illegal wiretapping.
When the media runs a story based on an anonymous source or leak, they are only muddying the waters, and usually to the benefit of liberal causes.
Share this if you think Rep. Gowdy is right: The media needs to stop spreading false rumors!
