Leaked audio of Speaker Paul Ryan saying he was abandoning Donald Trump has been released. Ryan said these words in October during a conference call with House Republicans.
In the conference call, Ryan clearly believed that Trump was going to lose. He believed Trump’s loss would be so bad that it could cause Congress to flip to a Democratic majority.
Ryan went on to say, “I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future.” Those words are coming back to haunt the Speaker, as now he is pushing the Obamacare repeal and replace bill.
Ryan has promised President Trump that this bill will easily pass Congress. Worse than that, the bill doesn’t appear to even tackle Obamacare. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig.
So, this audio is raising a red flag, putting doubt on what Ryan’s true intentions are. Listen to the Speaker in his own words below and let us know what you think.
Did Ryan truly mean that he would never defend Trump? Then what is he doing now with this Obamacare bill? He might need to address this audio and clarify if things have changed since Trump won. Not only did Trump win, but his massive coattails kept the House and Senate in Republican hands. Paul Ryan was wrong and he should apologize!
