NASCAR landed firmly on the side of patriotic Americans at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series pre-race festivities at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. There were no protests. Instead, everyone stood for the National Anthem, including all the crewmen and drivers.

Some NASCAR owners made it clear that protests during the National Anthem would not be tolerated. When asked how he would handle someone on his team protesting, team owner Richard Childress took no prisoners. “Get you a ride on a Greyhound bus when the national anthem is over,”  he said. “I told them anyone who works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people have gave their lives for it. This is America.”

Legendary NASCAR driver and owner Richard Petty made similar remarks: “Anybody that don’t stand up for that ought to be out of the country. Period,” he said. “If they don’t appreciate where they’re at … what got them where they’re at? The United States.”

Unlike the massive protests in the NFL, there was no dissent at the NASCAR event. Instead, only solidarity for our country and those who serve was seen. As you can see in the video below, everyone was incredibly respectful during the National Anthem.

President Trump tweeted his appreciation for NASCAR and its fans for being respectful during the National Anthem.

Many NFL players protested during the National Anthem after President Trump said that if he could, he would fire NFL players who joined Colin Kaepernick’s protest. NFL fans reacted passionately against these protests. The NFL better listen because if more fans step away from the league, revenues could plummet. Perhaps these fans should support NASCAR instead of the NFL!

Several NBA stars have also gone after President Trump for daring to speak out against the disrespect shown to this nation by NFL players. Military veteran Wayne Dupree is one of many people to have criticized NBA players Lebron James and Stephen Curry.

Share this if you think NFL players should ALWAYS stand for the National Anthem!
