Many of us were not blessed to be born to two loving parents. It can be downright heartbreaking to have your parents cast you aside, particularly during childhood. Two children born into a situation like this got some savage revenge upon their mother when they were tasked with writing her obituary.
This obituary is going viral for good reason. It’s brutal in its simplicity. They define her life in five simple paragraphs which start off innocent enough but end up showing how a parent’s bad decision can affect a child for decades.
Kathleen Dehmlow was not loved by her children Gina and Jay, but it’s hard to blame them. Dehmlow had an affair with her husband’s brother. When she got pregnant, she left not only her husband but Gina and Jay, too. Kathleen’s children were raised by her parents.
Gina and Jay experienced the highs and lows of childhood without their mother. Their mother was not there during their adult accomplishments either. While many people think of mothers as nurturing and loving, Kathleen was neither of those things. She chose her brother-in-law over her own children. Marriages crumble, but a parent’s dedication should be indestructible.
Kathleen passed away last week. Gina and Jay had her obituary printed and didn’t hold back on their assessment of their mother. Before she faces judgment at the pearly gates, they gave her their own public reprimand.
The obituary was published in the Redwood Falls Gazette and on Legacy.com:
Kathleen Dehmlow (Schunk) was born on March 19, 1938 to Joseph and Gertrude Schunk of Wabasso.
She married Dennis Dehmlow at St. Anne’s in Wabasso in 1957 and had two children Gina and Jay.
In 1962 she became pregnant by her husband’s brother Lyle Dehmlow and moved to California.
She abandoned her children, Gina and Jay who were then raised by her parents in Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schunk.
She passed away on May 31, 2018 in Springfield and will now face judgement. She will not be missed by Gina and Jay, and they understand that this world is a better place without her.
Wow! Kathleen’s infidelity from decades past and her abandonment of her children are now known around the world as her obituary has been picked up by foreign news outlets.

Gina and Jay have gotten some revenge. Now hopefully, they can get some healing and peace, too. The sins of their mother have clearly been their burden to carry as well.
Share this to remind people their actions can have a life-long effect on those around them!
