Mark Wahlberg is very dedicated to his fitness and his faith. The Lone Survivor actor is busy juggling his businesses and his acting career, but he always starts his day focusing on what is most important. This devout Christian shared that he begins each day with a half hour of prayer beginning at 2:45 am.
Wahlberg shared his schedule on Instagram after being asked what it takes to keep in such great shape. Apparently, it takes an awful lot of work and dedication, including two workouts. He also spends an hour in cryo-chamber recovery, which uses liquid nitrogen to plummet the temperature to -100C. This is believed to help muscles and joint pain and inflammation.
He starts his day at the alarming hour of 2:30 am. Fifteen minutes after rising, a half hour is dedicated to praying. Wahlberg is much different than his fellow actors. He is very proud of his faith and shares it regularly. This masculine actor gets up 45 minutes early to devote time to prayer. That is refreshing and remarkable, particularly when you look at the rest of his day.
Wahlberg even keeps this schedule when he’s on the road. He frequently shares Instagram videos from his 4 am club, which is what he calls his workout crew. It is very hard to stay active while traveling, but this is a dedicated man who made this routine work in preparation for a movie.
The father of four is very cautious about what he puts in his body as well.
“I start out with steel oats, blueberries and peanut butter for breakfast,” he said. “Then I have a protein shake, three turkey burgers, five pieces of sweet potato at about 5:30 in the morning. At 8 o’clock, I have about 10 turkey meatballs. At 10:30 am, I have a grilled chicken salad with two hard-boiled eggs, olives, avocado, cucumber, tomato, lettuce,” he shared about his daily eating routine.
“Then at 1 o’clock I have a New York steak with green peppers,” he continued. “At 3.30pm, I have grilled chicken with bok choi. At 5:30/6 o’clock, I have a beautiful piece of halibut or cod or a seabass, with some vegetables, maybe some sauteed potatoes and bok choi. And I have a lot of Aquahydrate during the day. That’s it.”
The half-hour of prayer is essential to his routine and this can be a private time, but Wahlberg also shares prayers on social media. In the tweeted video below, he sends a prayer of thanksgiving that his friend, rapper Post Malone’s plane landed safely after a scare. He even prayed for those who wished that the artist’s plane would crash during the very dangerous landing.
Thank God my guy @PostMalone and everyone else landed safely yesterday. 🙏🏼🙏🏼We have to be grateful for everything we have. Life can be taken away that quickly- and those with hate in their heart, we pray for you guys even more. 💪🏼🙏🏼❤️ @PerformInspired pic.twitter.com/PydyYgFS5V
