Jevonna Williams was trying to be sly when surprising her boyfriend earlier this month, but thanks to social media, millions would get to share the experience.

Her boyfriend, Jamil Brown, was taking photos with friends and family in his Marine uniform at his boot camp graduation in Parris Island, South Carolina as Jevonna watched from the back.

Then she photobombed him.

Jamil didn’t know that she’d made the trip to see him.

After the photo was taken, it was shown to Jamil who still didn’t realize Jevonna was there. After a slight hesitation, he finally realizes Jevonna was standing behind him the whole time and his reaction is priceless.

As Beaufort’s Island Packet summarized:

Maybe you’ve seen the picture and accompanying video online. Brown’s reaction was, well, something Hollywood would have a hard time scripting. A relative showed him the photo on a smartphone. He glanced at it, nodded and smiled, as if saying, “Yeah, that’s nice.” Then he looked closer — and spotted Williams in the background. His jaw dropped. The couple hugged. His white dress cap fell to the ground.

“It’s just something that is heartwarming, and it’s nice to share”

As of Tuesday morning, the video had been viewed nearly 5 million times. Wow.

“That was not expected,” Williams told The Island Packet.

“It’s just something that is heartwarming, and it’s nice to share on Twitter, and I did,” Jevonna said. “And my notifications are through the roof.”

Even more heartwarming, ten days after the photobomb, Jamil popped the big question.

And Jevonna said yes!

They were staying at Jamil’s parents when he asked for her hand in marriage.

“I woke her up in the middle of the night, with the light shining on it,” he said. “And I was there, down on one knee.”

It seems Jamil and Jevonna not only love each other but love surprising each other, too! Congratulations and best wishes to the beautiful couple!
