Last week, an old video from the college days of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez surfaced in which she recreated a dance from the classic 1980s movie The Breakfast Club. Since then, the liberal media has been proclaiming that Republicans everywhere are outraged over the fact that the video shows Ocasio-Cortez dancing.
The only problem is that there is absolutely no evidence that there was ever any outrage from the right over this video at all.
Fox News reported that this all started when the 2010 video surfaced anonymously on Twitter. The video shows Ocasio-Cortez and her friends from Boston University gleefully performing the dance together.
Various publications like The New York Times, GQ, and Newsweek immediately started claiming that conservatives were outraged over the video, offering absolutely no evidence to back up this assertion.
“It caused a social media stir, with the mainstream media and liberals lining up to cheer it and condemn conservatives for being offended by it. The only problem: Conservatives were not actually offended by it,” wrote Media Research Center’s Clay Waters.
Conservative strategist Chris Barron cited this as evidence that the leftwing media is “so desperate to make conservatives look bad that they will invent a controversy when there isn’t one.”
“If you want to look up the very definition of fake news, look no further than the faux controversy over the AOC dancing video. Literally, every single conservative I saw comment on the video said it actually made her more likable, and yet our shameless mainstream media spends days pushing the narrative that conservatives attacked her,” he said. “Must be nice being a liberal.”
It’s clear that the mainstream media is trying to use fake news to portray conservatives as sexist, stuffy, out of touch people who are so “uncool” that they were disturbed by this fun little video.
They also want to make it look like Ocasio-Cortez is under attack purely for ridiculous and sexist reasons. The media is doing this in the hopes of distracting people from the fact that Ocasio-Cortez is actually under fire from Republicans due to her insane socialist policies. If the media can convince people that Republicans are after her based solely on this video, Americans are less likely to listen to the real concerns conservatives have over this congresswoman.
Ocasio-Cortez has undoubtedly also realized that this fake scandal could be advantageous to her as well, as she has taken it and ran with it. She even went so far as to post a defiant response against all the fake conservatives who are supposedly outraged about this.
I hear the GOP thinks women dancing are scandalous.
Wait till they find out Congresswomen dance too! 💃🏽
Have a great weekend everyone :) pic.twitter.com/9y6ALOw4F6

It’s pathetic that the left is stooping so low as to create fake outrage just in the hopes of making conservatives look bad. What’s even sadder is that they seem to be getting away with it, as people appear to believe that the fake conservative outrage they are preaching about is real.
